About

Six pink frills, four splayed limbs, and a mouth open far wider than seems structurally advisable. AXIE is having a moment. Axolotls always look like they are smiling — this one has escalated.

The frills are what people come for and what makes this kit different from anything else we sell. Each one is felted separately as a thin curved strand, then attached around the head, three per side. They are the only part of any Joypok kit where you build something delicate rather than something solid, and the finished result stands up off the head instead of lying flat against it. Take your time on them. They are the difference between an axolotl and a pink lizard.

Made for My Sister

My sister is obsessed with bichons, so Birthday Bichon was an easy choice. I spent about 3 hours making it on a Saturday and rewatched the fluffy head part twice. I took a picture before wrapping it. She put it on her car keys that day. Now I kind of want one for myself.

Mom of two under 5 here. I made this painter penguin over two nights after bedtime, packing the needles away each time. It took about 5 hours, mostly because of his tiny palette. His beret slouches to one side like a real artist. He sits on the top shelf now. My penguin, not theirs lol.

Two weeks later I ordered Penguin Love and finished it in about half the time. The two penguins and the big heart were way more forgiving than tiny letters, and I think I finally figured out how deep to poke. Now they sit side by side on my desk, and I like seeing how much better the second one came out.

Are Joypok DIY kits beginner-friendly?

Yes — most of our customers had never tried needle felting before. Each kit comes with a QR code that opens a step-by-step video, and the wool is pre-portioned by color, so there's no guessing. If a shape doesn't look right, you just keep poking until it does.

How long does a project take?

Most kits take 2–4 hours. You don't have to finish in one sitting — many people do 45 minutes one evening and finish the next. The wool won't dry out or change while it waits.

Will I poke myself?

Felting needles are sharp — that's what makes them work — so every order comes with a free finger protector. Wear it on the hand holding the wool, poke slowly, and keep your fingers off the felting surface. Most people never poke themselves at all. Recommended for ages 14 and up, with an adult nearby for younger crafters.

When will my order arrive?

In-stock orders may ship on the day you place your order and will ship no later than 3 processing days after the order date. We process and ship Monday through Saturday, excluding Sundays. Estimated delivery within the contiguous United States is 3–5 calendar days after shipment, including weekends and holidays. Carrier delays may affect delivery. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and other remote areas may take longer. Pre-order items follow the shipping window on their product page. You’ll receive tracking by email when your order ships.

How much is shipping?

Free shipping on U.S. orders of $50 or more after discounts and before tax. Orders under $50 start at $7.50. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and other remote areas may cost more. Your exact rate is calculated at checkout.

Can I return a kit?

Yes. You're welcome to open the box and look through your kit. As long as the wool hasn't been felted, the needles haven't been used, and everything is complete and in its original packaging, you can request a return within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping is on you unless the item arrived damaged or wrong.

How can I make my felt piece smoother?

Keep felting gently but consistently until the surface feels firm and the fibers blend together. You can also add a thin outer layer of wool for a clean, soft finish. For more help, visit our Other Tutorials page.

What does the NO FAIL label mean?
