Zen Capybara Needle Felting Kit

I'm a nurse and my brain doesn't shut off after a shift. I put my phone in the other room and just poked. It took me closer to 5 hours because I kept rewatching the face part, but I didn't care. First time in a while I did something just for me.

I was supposed to get a finger protector, I did not. Everything came with the kit but the "detailed instructions" were a 25 minute video where the instructor had multiple tools that were not part of the kit, and were not beginner friendly. There was only one picture of the finished product so I couldn't check that mine was the proper shape or size. I also had to wait and purchase additional needles because all 3 in the kit broke within 2 hours of starting the project.

I have zero artistic talent. I can't even draw a stick figure. But this 'painting with wool' concept is genius. It's Eazy to follow because you're just filling in the colors inside the frame. My friends didn't believe I made this. It looks like something I bought at an art fair.

I've tried cheap Needle Felting Kits before and gave up because the wool was rough and needles broke constantly. Joypok is night and day. The wool here is soft and the instructions actually make sense. The All in one Kit quality justifies the price. You really get what you pay for.

I struggled a bit with blending the colors on his snout, but the provided needles are sturdy and didn't break. The finished piece looks exactly like the photos (well, almost). It's such a unique piece of decor compared to just buying a print.

Got this for a date night activity. I made the capybara and she made the background. To be honest, my capy looks a bit more 'well-fed' than the picture, but that just makes him cuter. The kit came with everything we needed. It was a bit hard to get the eyes perfectly symmetrical, but the video tutorial helped a lot. We had a great time laughing at our progress. 10/10 would poke again.

Poking the base shape was easy, but making the little orange took me a few tries (my first one looked like a pumpkin lol). But once I put it all in the frame, it looked so professional! It’s now sitting on my work desk bringing me good vibes. Highly recommend this kit.

This was my first time ever needle felting, and I’m really happy with how this Joypok capybara kit turned out. The kit itself is great and the finished capybara is adorable. The instructional videos were helpful, but as a beginner I think they could have been a little clearer in some spots. I can tell now that I did the legs slightly wrong, and I probably could have made it a bit bigger, but there’s likely enough felt left to make a smaller one. Overall, it was a fun and rewarding project, and I’d definitely try another kit.
